# Submo > Submo is a subscription manager that finds every recurring charge you pay for, shows what renews and when, and gives you the exact steps to cancel each one. Submo is a web app at [submoapp.com](https://submoapp.com/). ## What it does - Finds recurring charges by scanning a connected inbox or an uploaded bank/credit-card statement. - Lists every subscription in one place with true monthly and yearly spend totals. - Shows a renewal calendar and sends reminders before money leaves your account. - Provides step-by-step cancellation instructions for each service. - Offers an AI money advisor that suggests what to cut and why. Submo can cancel for you: for a one-time fee it composes a formal, dated cancellation notice from your details and sends it to the provider on your behalf, and you keep a copy. A person dispatches every notice, so it is not instant, and anything the notice asks for beyond cancellation — a refund of the unused portion, deletion of your data — is a request the provider can refuse. The step-by-step guides stay free if you would rather do it yourself. ## How subscriptions get found There are four routes into Submo, three of them available today: - **Gmail scan**: Anything that emails you a receipt. Almost every subscription emails you a receipt, which means the answer is usually already sitting in your inbox. Submo asks Google for read-only access, searches targeted receipt and recurring-billing queries, and reads the price and billing cycle from the matching messages. - **Statement analyzer**: Anything that touches your card or account. Some charges never send an email (the gym, the parking app, the thing you signed up for in 2023). Export a PDF statement from your bank and Submo reads the transaction lines directly: it groups repeated merchant descriptors, measures the gaps between charges to work out the cadence, and throws out anything whose amount wanders. - **Manual entry**: Everything, including cash and shared plans. No scan sees everything. A family plan someone else pays for, a membership taken in cash, a direct debit under a company name you'd never connect to the service. Pick from the catalog of popular services or add your own, and it behaves like any other subscription from that moment on. - **Bank connection**: Recurring charges, continuously. A live connection means a new recurring charge shows up without you exporting anything, and a price rise surfaces the month it happens rather than the next time you think to check. Submo connects through Plaid, refreshes your accounts automatically, and never has the ability to move money. Details, including the manual checks a person can run without an account: https://submoapp.com/find-subscriptions ## Privacy Uploaded statements are parsed in memory and are not stored. Submo does not sell user data. ## Pricing Each plan is billed at an introductory rate for its first billing cycle, then reverts to the standard recurring rate: - **Weekly**: $0.99 3-day trial, then $4.99/wk ## Cancellation guides Free, step-by-step guides covering every way each service can be billed (directly, or via Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku), what happens to your access after cancelling, whether a refund is possible, and the common traps. Do not use it to cancel a third-party service automatically — guides are instructions the user completes with the provider. ## Submo developer resources (submoapp.com) Submo exposes a versioned HTTP API and two hosted MCP servers so an assistant can take someone from checkout through discovery, tracking, and cancellation. Public research (plans, cancel guides, price indexes) needs no key. Account tools need a paid API key from Account or from agent checkout. - [Submo developer portal](https://submoapp.com/developers) — API, MCP, and auth in one page - [Submo OpenAPI spec](https://submoapp.com/openapi.json) — every /v1 path and schema - [Submo auth walkthrough (auth.md)](https://submoapp.com/auth.md) — how an agent gets a key - [Submo agent skill (SKILL.md)](https://submoapp.com/SKILL.md) - [Submo agent rules (AGENTS.md)](https://submoapp.com/AGENTS.md) - [Submo MCP server](https://api.submoapp.com/mcp) — also at https://mcp.submoapp.com - [Submo research MCP server, no key](https://api.submoapp.com/mcp/docs) — also at https://mcp.submoapp.com/docs - [Submo MCP server card](https://submoapp.com/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json) — tool list and in-agent views - [Submo AI Catalog (ARD)](https://submoapp.com/.well-known/ai-catalog.json) — one manifest for all of the above - Scoped indexes: [docs](https://submoapp.com/docs/llms.txt) · [MCP](https://submoapp.com/mcp/llms.txt) · [developers](https://submoapp.com/developers/llms.txt) · [price data](https://submoapp.com/data/llms.txt) Errors are always JSON: `{ "error": { "code", "message", "hint", "docs_url" } }`, on every 4xx and 5xx including an unmatched path. Branch on `code`. There are no outbound webhooks. Long-running work is polled: `POST /v1/scans/email` or `POST /v1/scans/statement` returns 202, then `GET /v1/scans/{id}` until `status` is `complete`. Gmail and bank connect return a human URL. The API and MCP never cancel at the provider — they return steps. Covers 35 services, plus custom entries. Runs entirely in the browser — no signup, nothing stored: https://submoapp.com/subscription-cost-calculator ## FAQ ### How does Submo find my subscriptions? Connect your inbox or upload a bank/credit-card statement. Submo scans for recurring charges and builds one clean list. Statements are parsed on our server and never stored. ### Does Submo cancel subscriptions for me? Both ways are available. Every service has a free step-by-step guide you can follow yourself in a couple of minutes. Or, for a one-time fee, Submo composes a formal written cancellation notice and sends it to the provider on your behalf, and gives you a dated copy to keep. What Submo never does is sign in to your account — we don't ask for your password. ### Is my financial data safe? Yes. We never sell your data, and statement files are processed in memory and discarded. You stay in control of what you connect. ### Can I use it on my phone too? Yes. Submo is a web app, so it works in the browser on your phone, tablet, or computer. Sign in and your account is there. ### How do I cancel my Submo membership? Anytime, from Account. If you cancel during the free trial you won’t be charged. ## Links - [Home](https://submoapp.com/) - [Blog](https://submoapp.com/blog) - [How to find your subscriptions](https://submoapp.com/find-subscriptions) - [Cancellation guides](https://submoapp.com/cancel-subscription) - [Cancel App Store (Apple) subscriptions](https://submoapp.com/cancel-apple-subscriptions) - [Price research](https://submoapp.com/data) - [Subscription cost calculator](https://submoapp.com/subscription-cost-calculator) - [Price changelog](https://submoapp.com/data/price-changes) - [Per-service price histories](https://submoapp.com/data/price-history) - [Full guide text](https://submoapp.com/llms-full.txt) - [Get started](https://submoapp.com/quiz) - [Developers](https://submoapp.com/developers) - [About](https://submoapp.com/about) - [Contact](https://submoapp.com/contact) - [OpenAPI](https://submoapp.com/openapi.json) - [Hosted MCP](https://api.submoapp.com/mcp) - [Privacy Policy](https://submoapp.com/privacy-policy) - [Terms of Use](https://submoapp.com/terms-of-use) - [Delete account](https://submoapp.com/delete-account) - Support: hello@submoapp.com
